Treasurer's Report Derek Fuciarelli was not in attendance at the meeting, there was no report available. Old Business Second half schedules: The Intermediate B and Rec. B second-half schedules are not yet posted on the league website. It was suggested that all division directors follow-up with their respective schedulers to make sure all second half schedule are complete and emailed to Ann Dobija for posting on the league website. Division directors not present: Intermediate B. Scoresheets: All teams should check the website to see which scoresheets are outstanding and get them in to their respective statistician as soon as possible. The Board reminded the Division Directors/statisticians that official scoresheets are to be forwarded to the division statistician within 48 hours of a game or else it is considered a forfeit. It was suggested that those Division directors/statisticians having difficulties, warn their respective teams of this consequence making it clear to the delinquent teams that if the scoresheets are not forwarded asap, the missing game sheets will be entered as a forfeit for the winning team, or to the home team in the event of a tie per the rules. Official scoresheets are required for all games as they become a permanent part of the league records, which are then used to determine division standings and Ruicci Cup seedings. Ruicci Cup: The Ruicci Cup will be held March 12-14, 2004 at the Eddie Edgar Arena located in Livonia, Michigan. Depending on the number of teams participating, there may be games played on Thursday, March 11th, but only if necessary. The host team is the Stingrays. Entry fee is $350 (Canadian teams pay this in Canadian funds). Checks should be mailed to the league Treasurer, Derek Fuciarelli, along with a copy of each team's official Roster by February 1, 2004. His address is: 484 Cedar, Wyandotte, MI 48192. Terry Mathews will e-mail division directors with his address as well, and they will distribute to their teams. The Board also reminded everyone that players must be officially rostered with their team by January 31, 2004, to be eligible to participate in the Ruicci Cup. There will be a meeting between the Stingrays and the Ruicci Cup Coordinators (Terry Mathews and Amy Martin) in the near future to finalize preparations for the Tournament. For further information regarding the Ruicci Cup, reference the league Rules and Regulations on the website. The RC scheduler needs to let Eddie Edgar know as soon as possible how much ice is needed. Carrie Sirola volunteered to schedule the tournament. MAHA Updates: Regarding States and Nationals, Carrie Sirola informed the Board that Bob Steele is keeping her posted regarding the scheduling and certification of credentials. New Business Goalie Issues: Deb. R. from the Cyclones was asked to represent her division regarding the lack of availability of goaltenders in her division. She indicated that on many occasions, teams have to cancel or reschedule games because they have no goaltender available. She brought up the possibility of lower level goaltenders possibly being allowed to play "up" a division if teams are in need of a goalie. The issue is going to be looked into by Carrie Sirola as there may be an issue with respect to the "no dual roster" rule. She will check with MAHA to see what Senior men's leagues do since this is a common practice in men's senior leagues. The issue my be brought to the Board for further discussion once a determination is made from MAHA. Referees: An email was received by Joanne regarding family members officiating a game. Although this rule is not prohibited, it is not suggested. Also, per the rules, this fact must be disclosed PRIOR to the start of the game and only allowed IF both teams agree to same. Next Meeting The next meeting of the Board of Directors will be held Monday, February 9, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. at the Eddie Edgar Ice Arena. The meeting was adjourned at 8:23 p.m. by Carrie Sirola and seconded by Terry Mathews.
