MSHL Meeting April 5, 2004 Minutes Review and approval of March meeting minutes are pending their completion. Treasurer's Report - league budget not available as treasurer was not present * Ruicci Cup host team is in need of bills to be paid, i.e. checks written from the league * Joanne Lukasik will get the checkbook from Derek Fuciarelli so these items can be taken care of Old Business Ruicci Cup Wrap-Up Winners of their divisions will be posted to the league web site: Recreation B - Ice Picks Recreation A - Phantoms Intermediate B - Wildcats Intermediate A - Polar Bears Advanced B - Metro Blades Advanced A - not enough teams to run this division Feedback from teams and coaches was all positive; everyone felt the tournament was run very well. Thanks to the Stingrays for stepping up and running a great tourney! The silent auction raised $360, which is going back to the league. The Ruicci Cup trophy had some damage but has been repaired, and will be put in the display case at Eddie Edgar Arena, along with pictures of the winning teams. New Business MSHL Board Nominations Terry Matthews reminded the group that we need to start collecting nominations for new Board members. Generally the elections are held in May, so the deadline for nominations is April 30. Renee Dobrzelewski will send an email to all Division Directors with information about making nominations to the Board for positions of: President, Vice-President/Ruicci Cup Co-Chair (2), Treasurer, and Secretary. A list of nominations will be compiled for the election meeting on May 18. Rules & Regulations Terry Matthews would like to re-draft (if elected again) the league's rules and regulations to add clarification and cover additional items. She would like to start by looking at the rules from other senior women's leagues around the U.S. Our current league rules would be revised before play starts next season. There was also a recommendation that the Board hold a mandatory meeting for coaches and team managers to cover the rules & regulations, possibly in September. Over 30 Women's League Michelle Munson contacted Joanne Lukasik about a meeting she is holding for players interested in an over 30 league. As discussed previously at a Board meeting, this league would be separate from the Metro Skaters Hockey League, and not affiliated with it, thus allowing players to register and play in both leagues. **As a side note ~ USA Hockey has a proposal for an over 30 division in Nationals, which would be considered Senior D Meeting was adjourned at 8:25 p.m. The next league meeting is at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18 at Eddie Edgar Arena.
