Treasurer's Report The July Treasurer's Report indicates the league has a balance of $3,049.27. All Ruicci Cup refunds have been mailed to the appropriate teams. The web-hosting bill was paid this month. The league updates it's own by-laws so may be able to avoid legal fee costs to have this done. New Business By-Laws and Rules and Regulations * Terry Mathews informed the Board that the Ruicci Cup information is being added to the Rules, but that they are almost complete. She reminded everyone that the by-laws and rules are posted on the league web site and all officers, directors, and team representatives should review them. Carrie Sirola suggested the league may want to include information on the USA Hockey/MAHA classifications but would not need to post information on the MAHA State Tournament. Letters of Intent/Division Structure * Petition from Julie Poisson 'Tilli' was reviewed. She subbed for the MC Flames last season but has asked the Board if she can drop down two divisions to play with the Southfield Storm. The board granted her request. * Joanne Lukasik advised the Board of several new teams entering the league for the 2003-04 season. No objections expressed and all letters of intent accepted. With the number of teams in the league this year, the Board discussed restructuring to create six divisions and agreed to divide the Senior Intermediate division in half. A motion was made by Derek Fuciarelli to accept the division structure, seconded by Amy Martin, and passed unanimously. Ruicci Cup Tournament * Amy Martin updated the Board, and indicated the Stingrays had volunteered to host the Ruicci Cup Tournament this year. There was discussion around possible dates, as State Finals will be held the last weekend of February or the first weekend in March, with Senior Nationals tentatively scheduled for the last weekend in March. It was agreed and approved by the Board that the Ruicci Cup would be scheduled between these two events. The first choice was March 12-14. Amy Martin will go back to Stingrays and instruct them to secure ice contract for that weekend. Statistics Spreadsheet * Carrie Sirola explained to the Board that there would not be a league-wide Statistician this season as it is too difficult of a task to manage. The Board reviewed the statistics spreadsheet that will be available on the league web site, and agreed with the recommendation that each Division Director play the role of Statistician as well. MAHA Update * MAHA will be adding Senior C to Nationals, according to Carrie Sirola, and letters of intent to play in the tournament will be solicited. There will be a Senior Women's Committee meeting on August 9 from 10a.m. - Noon at the Troy Sports Center. MAHA Rule Change - players do not need to be released from a team prior to being rostered with a different team for tournaments (only). Next Meeting The Annual Members Meeting will be August 18 at 7:30p.m. in Community Room #1 at the Eddie Edgar Arena in Livonia. ALL Division Directors/Schedulers, Team Managers/Representatives are asked to attend this meeting. Tentative agenda items include: Division Structure/Teams Selection of Division Directors and Schedulers Review of Statistician's Spreadsheet Ruicci Cup Tournament Michelle Mosier motioned to adjourn at 9:20p.m. Derek Fuciarelli seconded, and the meeting was adjourned. Respectfully Submitted, Renee Dobrzelewski, Secretary
