Website updates: * Each team needs to send their list of players/coaches and jersey numbers and what rink you are skating out of to Ann at adobija@aol.com * All divisions except Intermediate II have their schedules posted to the website * All divisions except Rec II have their stats posted to the website * Intermediate I division has some discrepancies in the posted stats. The league will contact the division statistician to correct any mistakes. New Business Game score sheets: All teams must make the effort to ensure that your game score sheet is accurate. Each team needs to evaluate the score sheet and acknowledge that it is filled out properly. Names of player’s not playing need to be crossed off. Each team needs to have a coach/rep sign the sheet and referee names need to be legible. The HOME team needs to make sure that their scorekeeper is filling out the score sheets correctly and is their responsibility to ensure it happens otherwise a game forfeit can be incurred. ***Check the MSWHL Handbook for more specific guidelines on score sheets. Board of Directors Communication: When an issue is brought to the BOD, we will all acknowledge the receipt of the issue/concern and appropriately address in a timely manner so all parties involved understands the issue and resolution. The deadline to enter States is November 15, 2006. Michigan can send 2 teams in Senior B, and 1 team in Senior C to Nationals. Other Issues * Request was made from Sue Ogrisko (Ice Dogs) to play with United Wrecking. Request granted. * A couple of players have asked about “subbing” for other teams. There is No Dual Rostering. A player may only register with one MSWHL team during league play. **See the MSWHL Handbook for more information. * Issue was raised by Metro Blades regarding referees for their 11/12/06 game vs. Wildcats. All referee issues need to be sent to the board in writing, using the Referee Complaint Form located on the league website. * Issue was raised regarding the play of the Michigan Devils. A written complaint needs to be sent to the Board for review and action. * Game between United Wrecking and Stingrays on 11/12/06 will be a FORFEIT charged to United Wrecking due to insufficient notification less than 72 hours before the originally scheduled game time. * United Wrecking has been notified that they cannot use Kim Kew as their goalie for any league games. Their request for her to be their goalie was denied at the beginning of the season and she can only sub as a goalie for the Advanced divisions * There was a complaint from team MISSION regarding the referees for Advanced II for this season. Below is the response to team MISSION: 11-9-06 “The Advanced II division lost the luxury of choosing their own refs this year because they failed to play nice with each other last year. After numerous complaints and failure by all parties concerned to heed the warnings issued by the Board last year, we were left with no choice but to take control of the situation. Adrianna as referee in chief was assigned the task to come up with a pool of refs to work the Advanced II division. The criteria used in the selection process was individuals who took women’s hockey seriously; individuals who understood our game and individuals who were willing to control the game in order to avoid a repeat of your division’s behavior last year. To date the only feedback that the Board has received from all parties has been nothing but positive. Things appear to be running smoothly without any incidents. After reading your e-mail, I am still convinced that the system is working well. Your complaints address nothing but personal issues with certain individuals. I have heard nothing from you that would indicate that your games have been inappropriately officiated. Bottom line leave your personal issues at the door when you come to play hockey and no, you can not choose or request your refs.”   Joanne Lukasik President MSWHL Next league meeting is Monday, December 11th at 7PM, Eddie Edgar Community Room. All Division Directors are expected to attend or send a representative for the division. Meeting adjourned: 8:25pm Lisa Mello MSWHL Secretary www.mswhl.com
