Meeting Minutes ~ December 11, 2006

Meeting Overview
President Joanne Lukasik called the meeting to order at 7:07 p.m.  

Treasurer’s Report
Johnna reported that there is a balance of $8701.58.  

Old Business
Ruicci Cup- Terry Mathews sent Top Cat Hockey our financial information but has not heard back. Still looking for a host team. The Frozen Assets and Puck N’ Chicks will talk off line to see if they can work out something and possibly co-host.  

New Business
* There is a referee issue at the Kensington area ice rinks. Adrianna is communicating with the scheduling coordinator to address the issues. She needs score sheets on specific referees that have been questionable as well as those that have done a good job. You can contact her at mshlric@hotmail.com
* There are a few past players from the Silver Bullets that have outstanding ice payments. Dorothy Horning, Sara Lancaster and Connie Harris will not be able to roster with another team until their payments have been made. A notation will be posted to the website as well.
* Rachel Grimes from the Michigan Devils appeared before the board to discuss complaints received from all Intermediate II teams about her level of unsportsmanlike play. A discussion about examples and incidents occurred. Rachel and the Michigan Devils have been warned and any further incidents will result in a more severe punishment. 
* There has been a complaint brought forward regarding referee issues at DSC. Adrianna needs score sheets on specific referees. You can contact her at mshlric@hotmail.com
* There was discussion about promoting females to take up refereeing and possibly hold a clinic. If you are interested, contact Adrianna and if there is enough interest, she will work to schedule a clinic in the future.  mshlric@hotmail.com
* Bulls vs. Mission 12/6/06 game- A fight occurred during the game and Adrianna has received information from one of the referees. The Board needs more information before any action can be done. We will review once we obtain more information.

MAHA/USA Hockey Report
Carrie Sirola reported that States will be the weekend of March 1st in Taylor. Senior C will have 3 teams competing for a spot. (Ice Dogs, Mission, Houghton).  For Nationals, we have 1 team for Senior A (Ice Breakers), and 2 teams will compete in Senior B (O’Leary Hawks, Black Beauty).

MSWHL Development Clinics
We are looking for more players for our clinics. Please encourage anyone you know that may be interested. Check the website for information and encourage women to sign up.

Next league meeting is TBD.  All Division Directors are expected to attend or send a representative for the division.
