Goalie Substitution Contact List

Goalie Substitution Policy

MSWHL has consolidated a contact list (see below) for teams to use when trying to locate a substitute goalie for their team. This is a list of goalies who are willing to sub. Depending on their goaltending experience, some goalies have been approved by the board to sub down one or even two levels. However, any goalie in our league may sub in her division or higher in emergency cases.

On a case by case basis and ONLY by first contacting the Division Director, if no goalies in lower divisions are available to sub, permission may be granted to secure a goalie from a higher division if NO OTHER GOALIE from a lower division is available to sub.  However, contact and permission from the opposing team official(s) must first be sought.  The opposing team official has the right to deny this request, in which case, either the game must forfeited or played without a goalie.

A team cannot use a "Borrowed Goalie" in more than 25% of its games. Please refer to the Handbook for more information

Any approved league player can register to be on the Goalie Sub List, found at the bottom of this page.  The allowable divisions for which she can sub will be discussed and approved by the board of directors.  Please contact Sarah Jacobsen at sarah.jacobsen@ymail.com if you are interested in being added to this list.
