In a defensive battle, Storm beat Ice Picks 2 - 1 at Oak Park Ice Arena in Oak Park on Saturday. Storm scored one goal to jump in to the lead in the first period. Storm added one goal in the second period and held on to its lead. Ice Picks failed to take the lead in the third period even though they scored one goal, and ended up losing the game.

Wendy Tryon and Maxine Kennebrew each tallied one goal for Storm. Giglio added one assist for Storm.

Julie Garska tallied one goal for Ice Picks.

This was the season's first game for Storm.
